The New South Wales Land and Environment Court has granted approval for a new 150 home estate in the Byron Bay Area, with Planit preparing and managing the development proposal. The Harvest Estate, a 150-home subdivision on Ewingsdale Rd land on the western edge of Byron Bay stretches over 76ha of land and has been subject to ten years of planning modifications and discussions.
Director of Planit Consulting, Boyd Sargeant told The Gold Coast Bulletin the Harvest Estate proposal was one of the most complicated development approvals to be considered in NSW.
“It is hoped this new estate will set a precedent for sustainable and environmentally conscious design for future planned communities across Australia,” Mr Sargeant said. “Under the approved 149 lot estate, 51 per cent of the site, or 38.4ha, will be conserved as green space and environmental buffer zones.” Planit is excited to see the next stages of the project begin, maintaining the integrity of the land and ensuring environmental sustainability.
