At a time when planning and environmental requirements have become more complex, Planit Consulting has been engaged to assist with the delivery of Queensland’s largest marine industry development.

The world-class Gold Coast International Marine Precinct in Coomera will cover 60 hectares accessible from Shipper Drive and fronting the Coomera River. Destined to be home to the Coast’s prospering marine industry, it will also include a TAFE facility, marinas, slipways, ship lifts, naval design suites, a range of associated manufacturing and industrial uses and the new Maritimo production facility.

The planning aspects of this project, which includes public and private land as well as tidal works and construction of a canal, are complex. The application, in addition to standard Sustainable Planning Act applications, also requires resource entitlements from the Department of Environment and Resource Management.

Planit Consulting is coordinating and managing the planning for this which has been declared a significant project by the Coordinator General’s Department for a declaration under the State Development and Public Works Act that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required.

Planit is currently preparing components of the EIS and the submission under the Federal Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act..
